Parents and their child

For parents and caregivers, their child is the most precious thing in their lives. It is an extension of themselves. They want nothing more than to give their child the best start, so that they can grow into a future full of possibilities. During these crucial early years, children spend a lot of time in care and education. Parents rely on education professionals, who contribute to the unique development of each child with their expertise and dedication.

At Ziber, we are fully committed to developing software that optimally supports communication between education professionals and parents. We make it simple and accessible, so that everyone enjoys using our platform. Our goal is to strengthen the collaboration between parents and professionals, so that together we not only support the child's journey, but make it unforgettable.

Democratically organized

Ziber has been active since 2000 and has been fully democratically organized since 2015. This gives all Ziber employees, the "Ziber Citizens", maximum autonomy and influence on decisions. The current Partner of Ziber, Johan Alkemade, was appointed to his role by a vote, and this role is reconfirmed by the group every six months.

At Ziber, we work without traditional hierarchies or fixed positions. There is no limit on vacation days, and 25% of the profit is divided equally among all Ziber Citizens. Everyone determines their own salary and knows that of colleagues. When making important decisions, we take our time, discuss everything openly and explore different options. Ultimately, we vote, with the well-being of our people always coming first, even above the company result.

Our Ziber democracy is not always the easiest path, because we have to inform each other continuously and openly about all kinds of things. That takes time and energy. But once we have made a decision, we all understand the reason behind it and we put our shoulders to the wheel with full strength and motivation. The choice to make software for education was also a joint decision. That is exactly why we get so much satisfaction from our work for parents, schools and childcare organizations – it is a decision that we as a team fully support.

Available in Europe

The Ziber platform is developed by our team in the Netherlands and is (currently) only available for educational institutions within the EU. We meet the requirements of the GDPR of the EU legislator and can even make country-specific adjustments that are relevant for that country.

In Germany we have opened a sister company ( Ziber GmbH ) to support customers in Germany. Customers with their registered office in other EU member states can contact Ziber BV ( www.ziber.eu ) directly for their support.
